Its up here somewhere, but I haven't figured out if this is 'aunt sue with a camera' or a hired 'pro'.

it happens. we complain about being relegated to the back, but at least then it applies to the video person as well. I try to work around it, but i post them with the videographer in the pictures. the B&G need to know what we were working with.

Wow, that photog is pretty far back too. If the EXIF is right, This is at 200mm. I hope he got some closer.
I've worked with cenimatographers before and as long as they're pro, they work with you as best they can, and that makes you want to do the same for them. We can ruin just as many shots of theirs as they can of ours.
There was a video compilation someone posted a while back of a photographer pretty much video-bombing nearly every shot that the videographer was taking. It almost looked like a BTS video for the photographer. It was quite comical.

There are some 'savior' shots where my photog friend moved around to get the shot, but I'm leaving these in the set. In the vows part, she is standing behind the bridesmaids with her arm and video camera basically under the preachers chin.... and some gawd awful on camera video light.

Haven't a clue. The last video camera model I knew about was an SVHS model that weighed 75 pound BEFORE you put the battery on... circa 1995.

It's not "aunt sue" shooting. You can see barn doors on the front of the camera, which makes it one of the popular models that pro videographers carry... I think either a Sony or Panasonic HD worth a few grand? I don't think I've ever seen a consumer-level camera with them before... She's a "pro", if you want to call her that.

Those barn doors you see is her light on top of her video camera and that bag over her shoulder is the battery for the light. Thats nuts standing right in front of the bride and groom... not cool

That makes sense. I knew the bag was a batt pack for something, but I didn't connect it with the hot light. I assumed the barn doors were like the ones you see on the sony hd units, but I've seen them on lights also... it is definitely a light!

In either case, not many people doing video for family have an external light and batt pack. This woman is expecting to get paid for her work. With that kind of "in your face" shooting, she needs to move to LA and work as a paparazzo.

I use a similar light on my video cameras, but yea she is right in the middle of that action. Completely clueless of her surroundings and I would be pretty upset if i were doing the picture taking. That problem can easliy be fixed with getting a full size camera with a better zoom lens and you wouldnt have to get that close to get the shot you want.
