iPhone 3Gs or a new HTC Aria? I am not using a smart phone and I am familiar with the older iPhone, but not sure I wanna be stuck with an older phone for two years...the HTC Aria has the Android OS on it.

What do yall think?

Aria has a smaller screen font... smaller, lighter feel... iPhone has many more apps... I'm currently looking at Verizon's Droid Pro or Incredible...

Much like cameras, the most important thing is how well it works for YOU. Try them both out and see what you like the best.

after more research, I am looking at the captivate. I like the smaller size, but some of the droid apps are supposedly blocked by ATT on the Aria. I really don't like the size of the Captivate or the iPhone. But if I am gonna get a smart phone I want one that actually does what I want it to do and to get lots of storage on the iPhone you gotta pay $100 per 8GB which is crazy when you can add a SD card to the droid phones for $15...not to mention the face I have several of these cards already.

Yes, the ability to add cards is cool, but my wife and I both wound up with iPhones despite that shortcoming. Being able to add 40000000000GB for free is meaningless if you don't like the way the phone feels, acts, sounds, etc etc etc. I have 10GB free on my 16GB phone and doubt very seriously I will ever make a real dent in that. The best research you can do is in the store with the phones in your hand.

Or change to sprint and get the Evo :D LOL and a better plan price. 69.99 a mo (plus $10 if you have an evo) For unlimited data text and web and unlimited talk to any mobile phone. (I am not a sprint rep I swear LOL)

Wow, looks like you've fallen into the pit of the "I don't want to try and sway you one way or the other, but the iPhone is much better for reason .........".
OK, I admit I have a droid "EVO" and I'm happy with it, I also know many of iPhone users who are happy with theirs. It's like the whole Mac vs PC thing. I think any of them will do the job for you. As far as iPhone having more apps available. Not sure where that comes from but I'd imagine that could probably change on a daily basis.

Basically study up on both and go check them out in person and get what you think will work best for you.

hmmm... i think the iphone4 is far better than the 3gs... well... screen resolution wise. once i saw the difference between the two it was like analog vs HD. night and day difference! so pics and video looks far better on the iphone 4.

i know the 4 isnt an option for you since you mentioned the 3gs but after seeing the screen quality on the 4 i would NEVER consider a 3gs.

Ive never seen the HTC so i can comment on that one...

Just going to add another suggestion to further complicate your dilema.

Did you check the Virgin Mobile phones and plans? I got a phone and plan for my son a few months ago. $25.00 for 300 mins (he doesn't make a lot of calls) unlimited text and internet. They have a new Samsung Droid Phone and a BlackBerry among others. There is no contract and you can transfer plans anytime you wish. The Samsung phone was introduced about 2 months ago, had we waited, he would have gotten that phone.

Just a thought.
