I'd rather put money in my bank account than Travel Channel on my resume. What does it pay?

"I worked for a guy who worked for Travel Channel."

Meh.

FWIW, one person's opinion.

Umm, sorry if this sounds harsh, but your message reads like spam. Doesn't everyone on this forum have experience taking photos?

It does, but he's been a member for several years and has a couple hundred posts under his belt. Still, it sounds like a free shoot. I get paid to shoot for magazines and newspapers, and I would require payment from a television network as well. The Travel Channel isn't any more special to me than Rolling Stone or Spin. Or, at least not any more special to make them pay and not Travel Channel. So, is this a paying gig?

Oh, and if it IS a paying gig, thank you very much for thinking of your TPF friends first!

I wonder where they were headed? Hmmm, maybe spend the day in NYC, or maybe another visit to Havana? I'm in, just for the trip :) besides I dont have any paying gigs today or tomorrow like you other guys do.
Of course, I might not get to spend the day posting here.

OK, I will bite... what is it? Are you looking for an assistant, photographer, what? Accompany you where? Africa, Arizona, Arlington? What is the scope of the project, expenses paid, what are the expectations?

Name of the client means not near as much to me as the scope of the assignment.

My guess is somewhere in TX. They'd already have a regular photog they use in NY, I'm sure... Havana in two days? Can you shoot everything you need there in two days? I was thinking more along the lines of San Antonio. It's probably a small segment for a "best riverwalk cities" or maybe they are shooting in Gruene as part of an episode "best old music hall destinations" or something like that. They'd need longer than two days for a bigger project, I would assume.

Heck, last time I assisted on a small series of 30 second commercials, it took two full days for the production company to film!

Havana is only about 3 1/2 hours away and its a small city. Now shoot it all in 2 days? I could spend a week there and not shoot it all. Not a lot of people from the states have ever been there, but it is like stepping back into time.
I got to make 2 trips there years ago, before I was asked not to go again :(
Some GREAT bass fshing about 3 hours outside of the city.
