Help!!!!!! - 12-20-2010, 09:03 PM

We have a server issue, Dell PowerEdge 2850, Server 2003, Raid5 and dell is suggesting we use a linux based system they have to save the data before we try to "repair" the OS. Do I have any Linux guys that can come in and give me a hand?
Here's the link to the linux tool they suggest alon with the instructions:
Index of /files/openmanage-contributions/omsa-601-live
Paying gig.
And yes, it shouldnt have happened and the people that dropped the ball will be suffering for a long time when this is over, but I need the help, not the lecture.

It appears that Dell is using a custom configuration of Ubuntu 9.04 which is a very popular linux operating system. Are you going to try and run the live CD and then migrate your data off of the hard drive? My only concern is the Raid 5 configuration and how or if the live CD will see the drive as a single partition. If you can't find any help on the board, I do have a local IT firm I can put you in touch with. They keep my SBS 2008 system running well. I think they would be able to help you rescue your data. Good luck.
