Exclamation El Paso Area Photos Needed - 12-21-2010, 12:16 PM

I decided to post this here instead of the area specific forum since it is likely photographers from all over may have these images in their archives.

I have a request from a client for some images from the El Paso area. I don't have all of these images in my archives and thought some here may.

The images must be high quality, professional, images that lend themselves to be blown up to wall size.

If you have images that fit these requirements, please send me a small 72dpi copy for them to review. If they choose your image you will negotiate licensing fees directly with them.

If no one has these images, then I guess I will be flying to EP after Christmas.

*********

Here are the requested shots:

El Paso Mt - 9'6" x 16'4" (one awesome image)
Sunbowl Stadium - 10.5' x 21' (one awesome image)
Fort Bliss - 5' x 40' (one awesome image)
UTEP (I am not sure yet what exactly, will find out this afternoon)

There may be 1 more shot needed, but I am waiting for clarification on it.

**********

Email me at david@davidbailey.com with any responses.

David

P.S. The use is for 1 printed image of each at 1 location (a restaurant) - one time, indefinite, use.

I have lots of shots of El Paso, some of them on my Flickr account. The "exceptional" part is a problem for me, though; I think my photos are nice, but not necessarily drop-jaw amazing.

Do you really think you could fly out there and be certain to shoot an amazing photo of all those things? It seems like a hit-or-miss thing to me. I'm told that one usually needs to be in an area for a while to do that sort of work.

If it were worth my time, I'd drive out there and do it for them. My Mom lives in Deming, so it would be a good excuse to visit her. As I say, though, getting an "amazing" photo is not something I could guarantee.

I am not trying to start a brouhaha about any of this, but if you cannot locate any photographer with images in their files, you might check to see if you can obtain permission to shoot at UTEP and the Sunbowl, before making a trip all the way out there.

I am almost 100% sure it will not be possible to get any sort of permission to shoot at Ft. Bliss. If you haven't been there, it is fenced in on all sides except the entry, and I seriously doubt if any "awesome" shot can be made from the distance necessary outside the fence.

Unless you can just walk through the gate anyway.

Are there any restrictions for soldiers or retirees as far as what can be photographed (I'm sure there has to be some).
