I found an old American Photo magazine from 1990 with an interesting new product.

The Toshiba Stereographic Camcorder SK-3D7:



"Home video leaps into the 1990s with the Toshiba Stereographic Camcorder SK-3D7. The Super VHS-C model creates its powerful 3-D image with the traditional pair of lenses but requires space-age viewing goggles for playback on standard VCRs. Camera, adapter, and goggles list for a cool $3,800."

3D has lingered in the background for a century. Sometimes, it's popularity blooms, then interest drops off to just a few enthusiasts.

That advertisement is pleasant nostalgia.
