Sorry you had a bad experience at Camera Stop.

Unfortunately, most of the staff really wants to do the right things, although they all have to cow-tow to Jeff the owner.

Also, their return policies are all over the map. For a while nothing was returnable, then somethings, now it sounds like they are back to pure profit again. I overheard the store is getting rid of all brands of point/shoots except canon, hence why they might not want it back. Who knows. Jeff sure does make it hard to give it a rousing endorsement.

I would go talk to him directly and explain your dilemma. I'm sure if he wants more long term profit, he might convert the return into store credit where you could use it in prints or accessories. Keep us posted n

I'm more of the ... rather make 15% on 1,000 returning customers than 50% on 1 that will never be seen again ... type of person. Jeff's MMV.

Unfortunately this was exactly what I observed. Living so close, I so wanted this store to do well.

This is worth a try. Maybe invite him to read this forum to see the business he is losing. Perhaps it will lead to an epiphany. Best of luck to you.

Really? Even though I have nothing to do with this thread except in the reading of it, I find that comment very rude and pretentious on your part. And just so you know before commenting on my grammer and spelling, yes English is my only language, born and raised here. I just dont really give a rats @ss what it looks like on a forum.

Last time I looked no store is required to refund your money for simple returns.

I just wonder why when the shoe is on the other foot and a photographer's customer books a photo session, then backs out, they are vilified? The store receipt isn't the only place the policy is shown. If I remember right, there's a sign over the counter and on the register stating the policy. You of course have every right not to patronize the store, but also shouldn't complain afterwards for being ignorant of the terms of the purchase.

And please get the name of the store correct if you're going to trash them in public.

I have no personal affiliation with Camera Stop of Plano. I have however purchased a few items there and used their print services. To add a data point, at no time have I been unhappy with my experience there. Their prices are typically MSRP, but that isn't atypical for a local small business where service and support can be valuable. Of course, YMMV...

Why is this so upsetting? I think the guy was just trying to be helpful to someone with English as a second language. I kinda got that from the original post myself.

Wow?!?!? Talk about being a sarcastic jerk! I wasn't teasing finepixdude for having a mispelled word. I was trying to provide thoughtful, helpful input here. Often, issues between two parties arise when there is a language barrier. I inferred that finepixdude was ESL by the fact that the entire post reads in the same choppy manner that my mother (and countless other ESL people) speak and type. I wasn't talking about correcting a their vs there or a your vs you're. I was making an educated guess based on the entire post. If I inferred incorrectly, then it's up to me to apologize to finepixdude for making a mistake. However, you have nothing to do with this, as you previously stated.

I am offended by the way you took my sincere contribution and made a mockery of it. You should be ashamed of yourself for that and you should be ashamed of your crude language at the end of your comment. This forum is better than that, and normally your posts are, too. I'll chalk it up to a bad day for you and move on, with or without an apology from you.

Thank you for understanding, unlike the few people who apparently woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.
