One Stop Camera Plano :( - 12-27-2010, 02:22 PM

Sometimes you just have to be very careful , where you buy your camera gear. I purchase a Fuji finepix camera for my wife at the One Stop Store. The sales assocate ( Thomas ) told me they had a great buy on there point and shoot camera's so make long story short I bought one.

My wife got a camera from her Daughter and said , just take the one you got be back, well who would thought, ( all sales final) I didn't notice that on the
receipt was last thing on my mind. They said , there was nothing they could do,
but really what go me was the actions of the associates at the store.

I was never told that couldn't return the camera and wish I would of look at the receipt closer. But for me I never well go to this Camera Store again.

I wish Thomas would of told me up front, no returns ... esp at Christmas ..

Sometimes live and learn pick your stores better. I never well set foot
in this store again. I should of went to Arlington Camera.

Thanks

I am sorry it happened to you.

If you are talking about the one at Preston and Parker, I have nothing but bad experiences there.

This is where I call my attorney and ask, "What are my options?" I'd bet dollars to donuts there is some law regarding returns... REGARDLESS of the sales receipt wording...

Had heard on the news stations in Houston about asking the stores' policies before the holidays. Guess it just became a big issue this year. Sorry to hear that it happened to you.

I should of ask for Store Credit, and yes was the Store on Preston and Parker. I did get them to take back the camera case.. the 14.51, cents.. but the lady did bitch.. she said.. where is the foam that goes inside? I did have the tag and all that hung it on the sales rack.. but.. I guess the little piece of stuffing foam was missing... she didn't want take it
back because of that.. but finely she said ok... I knew it was bad when they
got on phone to call manager ask if can take it back,,, I had everything in original box,
she bitch about where the white foam slip cover was for camera also,, but I don't think I got one.. box was open when I got it. Anyways I never shop at that store..

If it's an "open box" item... that changes everything.........

No one likes bad publicity. Contact a consumer investigative reporter at one of the news stations. They might be able to help.

Arlington is the store that I go to in
Dallas. It reminds me of the stores in LA.

Charles, did you pay with a credit card? If so, you may have recourse. Is the receipt the only place it says that? My card processor said if I wanted a no refunds policy it had to be prominently displayed in obvious manners, counter signage, in any printed matter like brochures, etc., as well as on the receipt.

Sadly so have I. Camera Stop is mentioned in at least 1 other thread. I had the awkward experience of meeting the owner at a social event. Had to keep from saying "Hi, remember me, I'm just one of the many of your former customers". Yikes! Why don't some retailers realize that taking care of customers yields positive results. Especially in a full-service, neighborhood, Mom and Pop type of store.

If I owned a camera store you better bet that I and most, if not all of my employees would be a member of one of the larger photo forums, to see and respond to what's going on. I know our sponsor AC does.

I can tell from your grammar that English is not your first/primary language, which can only make dealing with these shady businesses even harder. When they use slight differences in words or something subtle that can only be noticed by someone with a sharp eye for details and fluent in the language, it gets very hard to spot the trickery. Heck, with the rules only posted on the receipt, how could anyone have known before the purchase, without thinking to specifically ask about the policy beforehand?!?

Sorry it happened to you. Like you said, just stay away from that store, and shop at only TPF-approved retailers.
