Not sure of the exact date but at this point it's not a question of if; It's when. I'd imagine sometime in mid to late january. I'm halfway debating the purchase, I just hate that it lacks expandable memory.

I was waiting for iPhone to go Verizon and tired of waiting so got a Droid. Best decision I ever made. I'm beyond pleased with it.

My Torch came out of the box with 8Gb of storage. I can replace the 4Gb SDHC card with any size made. I was downloading a large file yesterday at 145Kb/sec. I don't usually pay attention to such things. That seemed fairly quick. Great reception way back in the woods.
The best part: WallyWorld was giving them away on Thanksgiving Day.

Well the question will be, will verizon's iphone have LTE in its initial release, I doubt it. I'd wait for that release to have a larger bandwidth.

There is a new droid phone slated to be released by HTC which will have LTE, it's designed similar if not exactly the same as the EVO for verizon.

My wifes cousin works for Verison and she said something about it a couple of weeks ago but I don't remember what it was since I'm on Sprint. I konw it wasn't some great insider information or anything, just what their expectations were.

Not exactly true. The great majority of Apple's products are not advertised far in advance. There's always great speculation as to release dates. Even as far back as iphone's initial release there wasn't an official announcement until sometime in the 1 to 2 week window of the launc
