Earning a living as a photographer in the 1970s - 12-31-2010, 04:23 PM

While stationed in West Germany in the early '70s we went on vacation to the Baden-Baden area of the Black Forest. When I saw the bear I didn't realize he was working with a photographer who was selling the tourist crowd a memory of their visit to the lake.

When the bear saw me raise my camera he reacted. The photographer jumped up and demanded I pay him for the picture.

I believe we settled on half price - about 3DM (about 80 cents).
