2011 Photo A Day Projects?

How many of y'all are starting a Photo-A-Day/PaD/365 project?

I'm trying again this year (my third try), but this time using a WP blog to do it.

Already started. I'm one for one. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. I have an advantage this year: My fabulously awesomely fantastic LeicaBerry will be ready when the time is right.

I've done it in the past... but the problem is are you truly going to produce something portfolio worthy every day? Are you going to have a day where you hurriedly put something up that is lesser quality because of this self imposed deadline? Is that the impression you want clients to have of you? I'd much rather post weekly images.. which is what I've done for the last several years...

I tried the 365 and just found it too hard to find something to photograph everyday that had some substance.

Going to try it again but not pressure myself on one a day, at least 1/week.

Will there be a dedicated thread for it?

IMO, 300 pictures of crap and 65 of something worth a damn.

I'm doing one! I've never done it because I've always been too busy with work. But since I'm taking time out from the business side of photography and wanting to grow more creatively, I decided I'd go for it.

I did one once several years ago... in fact thats what really got me into photography. I started it with my old Olympus point and shoot and I stuck with it for 9 months solid.

I can say that doing that PAD project was the best thing for me because I made myself pick up my camera EVERY DAY and that helped me out tremendously in learning photography.

I always recommend if people have an interest in doing it then I encourage them to do so because theres so much you can learn by trying new things and leanring how to MAKE a photograph when otherwise you didnt think one existed in your environment.

I'm giving it a try - jr365.wordpress.com. We'll see how it turns out. I got a G12 just for the purpose of having a somewhat decent camera with me all the time. Of course, I might just use the iPhone 4 from time to time.
