I can shoot with either. Naturally, I am right eye dominant. But being able to shoot left eyed is really important at times.

Left eye because that's were my doctor placed my distance lens. I used to be right eye dominant. But I like shooting with my left eye.

When you learn to fire weapons with either eye and either hand, a camera is a snap. Name: rimshot.gif

Left eye dominant so shoot the camera with the left, but being right handed have always shot rifles with right without much problem. I guess just from years of shooting that way.

Both! Another advantage of a 5x7" field camera: a really big view finder.

Years ago when I used to video, left eye was in the viewfinder and the right eye was open for awareness of what was going on around me.
Now its left eye to the camera.

That's how you fire weapons, if you are properly trained.

Did you know you will produce different pictures with each eye. For me my left eye will produce the more creative shots. My right eye will produce the plain snapshots. It is weird Right Brain - Left Brain thing.

We were always told in school to start shooting with your dominate eye to see where that will take you. To determine your dominate eye with both eyes open quickly put your finger on a small object across the room. Then close one eye at a time to see which eye puts your finger on the spot, this is your dominant eye. The other eye will be OFF the spot.

When I was in basic training on the rifle range, I could not hit anything using my right eye. I started using my left eye and hit the middle of the target every time.

Left-eye (though I can use my right) and I try not squint my right eye closed cause it looks stupid. Also just discovered that I am left eye dominant using Michael's test, but my eyesight is a bit worse on that side. I'm right-handed and right-ear dominant (I will always hold the phone to my right ear, even if I need to use my left hand).

Hmm... interesting, learned a new thing about myself.
