Here is the text of a CL ad I saw.
Is this for real or is it some sad joke posted by another photographer ?

We are a jewelry and watch company in Dallas, looking for a product photographer and Photoshop expert to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a candidate with previous product photography experience, good digital imaging skills, and a solid background in Photoshop.

Responsibilities will include:
• Take photos of products
• Extensive retouching and image adjustments in Adobe Photoshop
• Transforming basic jewelry photos into visually appealing digital images
• Isolate images from backgrounds; alter into transparent background
• Enhance images while still maintaining a natural look
• Maintain and update image archives

The Photographer will work closely with graphic and web designers to make sure all requirements are met for the final images. Maintaining consistent quality of images and meeting targets are of the utmost importance.

Qualifications:
• Previous photography experience
• Advanced knowledge of digital photography systems including Adobe Photoshop and other related graphics programs
• Proficient on both the Macintosh (OSX) and PC computing platforms.
• Must be solution oriented and work well under strict deadlines
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and work well as a team player

This is a full time position, minimum 40 hours per week with ample opportunity for overtime. Starting pay rate is $10.00 per hour. Freelance and Independent contractors will not be considered.

Hmmm... Assuming this was a Dallas CL ad (even though you are in OK), I was thinking it sounded a lot like a Fossil job until I reach the part that said "Starting pay rate is $10.00 per hour."

Fossil doesn't pay that low, even for their entry level positions. I wonder what crackpot company thinks they'll get somebody with all those qualifications for Burger King money?!?

With today's economy and workforce, many employers are offering lowball paying jobs, and getting takers.
Jobs I used to see going for $60K a year are now being filled for under $35.

So someone is probably gonna take the job, most likely a college student or out of work person desperate for some work.
