Caligula's tomb found after police arrest man trying to smuggle statue | World news | The Guardian

Since the statue was so large I bet there will be some interesting items found if it hadn't been looted of the smaller stuff for almost the last 2000 years.
It is suprising that something so major had never been found and excavated so no telling what else is out there. Since he was an Emperor of Rome and was killed in office I bet there was a lot put into his tomb.

Wow. Intriguing. So from what I gathered from the article, archaeologists had not found the site, but some random tomb raider had found it?
Crazy.

He was a walking freak show. I'd be scared to go prowling around his tomb.

I think the archelogist may have thought it was destroyed in WWII with the temples and other places associated with him that had been found before.

Yeah probably some goat hearder found a cave that he went into, maybe out of the rain, and came across the tomb.
