Does anyone have any books they'd recommend for posing people? I have the technical side down pretty well and my lighting is improving. It is easy to find good books for those. Anything for tips on posing people? My posed people shots are primarily friends and kids.

Hm, I would have thought this kind of book would be common. I've seen several over the years. The only pose book I have, however, is for nudes.

Jeeze what type of portrait do you want? Formal? Corporate? as mentioned above Nude? Group? Large Group? Fashion? Glamour? Grunge? Rock?
I would recomend getting some coffee table sized books of the collections of some of the better portrait shooters over the years of the style that you want to try to duplicate and study them very closely (the larger the pictures the better) and be sure to look at the way the light is hitting the subjects (look at their eyes very closely) to try to figure out how the shoot was lit.

Not a bad idea, James.
Paul, mostly family shots, kids, etc. I understand what you are getting at, and the answer is I don't know for sure yet. Just typically 1-2 people.

I let out Pinup/Cheesecake, Burlesque, Film Noir, and it goes on and on. Heck there is even a group that works with babies from newborn to 1 year.
Do you read Rangefinder? After Capture? Professional Photographer? and there are many more which all have great coverage of Portrait shooters who are working today.
If you are not getting those magazines you need to (some are free to the trade).

Thanks for the inputs. I'll keep an eye on the classes and will snag one or two of the books.
