On the face of it this sounds reasonable and how I think they should conduct themselves.

I'm glad they pointed out that public areas, such as the airport, are open to photography.

What they didn't point out is the obvious; if I want "surveillance" shots of "sensitive areas," I'm not likely to do it with a big obvious DSLR while standing out in full view.

I have a pen camera in my pocket right now that I use in security work and occasionally when I expect a customer service issue to arise. I can record anywhere I happen to be with noone around me having any idea that I'm doing it.

Even before I had that, I turned in quite a few slightly tilted videos of suspicious events, from acting like I was talking on the camera phone while I was recording.

Essentially, this isn't a situation where I'd be concerning myself with the guy who sticks out like a sore thumb. If anything, I'd be looking for his subtle buddy with a slightly oversize pen in his shirt pocket or funny looking sunglasses, documenting how they handle "suspicious activity."
