Alternative to Otterbox case? - 01-21-2011, 10:01 AM

I got the Otterbox case for my 3G. Loved it.

So the day I got my iPhone 4, I got the Otterbox case. The ATT guy put it on for me.

I wanted to like it... But I constantly have to fix the stupid silicon cover cause it's coming undone.

Anyone got a tank style case suggestion alternative? I'm rough on my phone - use it very heavily so no flimsy thin cases... Unless of course it's made out of mithril... ;-)

I have an otter box on my phone b/c mike is hard on phones. yeah. i dont like how bulky it makes the phone and the rubber pulls my hair. i hate that!

i havent found anything else. the phone has hit the floor, cement, and they are fine. i like that part.

as for the cover slipping off - are you sure its on right? mine only does that if i pull it off.

I would go back to the store, it seems like they sold you a defective case. I have never had an issue with Otterbox.

Never had problems with mine. Take it back, it must be defective.

I've notice the past couple of weeks the rubber surrounding is starting to slip off also. I may have to call Amazon

I have the same problem with the rubber on mine. It isn't that bad, it slips a little around the top edges, but it just doens't look right and I constantly feel the need to fix it.

I have the OB on my 3g and good thing the case is tough cz the only time I've dropped it is when the belt carrier failed. Needless to say after 3 drops the belt carrier was fired.

I have the defender series, that I ordered directly from otterbox. No problems at all. Sorry to hear you are having issues. I have had friends call otterbox and they were treated great and one even got replacement parts for free.

Here is what I have, its much smaller then my wifes 3GS otterbox.

I had googled it yesterday cause it was annoying me - to see if it was 'just me'... Apparently not. It's more prevalent with the 'colored' silicone. Mine is pink (easier to find cause I own nothing pink, lol)...

Anyone using a Ballistic HC case? One of the roofers had one today and it looked pretty comparable.

I have this case and love it: iPhone 4 Hard Tough Cases by Case-mate
It's saved my phone for sure at least twice when I dropped it from hip height right onto it's face. Saved the glass and everything else.
It has a silicone skin inside a hard plastic outer case so it absorbs some shock, but it's still really thin and form fitting. Love it.

Otterbox is a great company; if there's a flaw in their product, they will make it right (unless you find a replacement and don't need them to). My first OB was for my iPod, and then I used one for my Blackberry for four years. Now I have on for my 3Gs.
