one of the things i dont like about most photo editors is that they require you to use a square crop. istamatic, hipstamatic or whatever ever theyre called do that and it drives me crazy. lol

I wonder if this app will let you keep your original non square photo ratio and apply those effects. if so, ill buy it. if not, then ill pass.

lemme know how it works

Doesnt work.

Turning the CROP to OFF only means that the app will crop it square FOR YOU so that you dont have to do it yourself. WTF.

FAIL.

This is NOT a photo editing app. You do not have any actual control in regards crop, adjust expsoure, straitghen photos...etc. In a nutshell, the app pretty much just adds textures to your photo.

To start there are only 10 textures (effects). You get the so called '100 camera in 1' results by layering different textures.

I would say skip this app unless you just really want to get artistic with your iPhone photos.

Yeah, they are trying to evoke that nostalgic, retro feel of old Polaroids and 2 1/4 square film cameras (like Hassies, Rollies, etc). I like square shots, but would hate an app that forced me to crop EVERY shot into a square!

I think they mis-named this app. This app is intended for the A.D.D. crowd, people who want to fool around mindlessly with a photo, rather than do anything serious with it. It's for people who don't have a particular vision in mind; they want to be surprised.

You know that Adobe Photoshop Elements does something similar to this, only with 6 iterations at a time, instead of 100. It is my least-favorite part of Elements, and largely useless to me. I cannot seriously keep track of all those iterations.

This did make me laugh a little being that your username is ImageBUFFET.

Excuse my warped sense of humor.

I like the PS app on the iPhone, but I really would like a gradient ND filter and/or spot/brush options for exposure, maybe something where you can use your finger as a 'brush'. Oftentimes I'll take a pic and one part is blown out (sky) and the rest is underexposed.
I've noticed on the iP4 that it will selectively meter sometimes, but if you meter for the dark, the light gets blown out and vise versa.

Richard, not everything about photography has to be serious. I'm a little disappointed in your statement.

"This app is intended for the A.D.D. crowd, people who want to fool around mindlessly with a photo, rather than do anything serious with it."

For the past seven years I've had a blast with photography and tried to keep it fresh and fun. Let's try to keep a positive attitude and be good examples for budding photographers that come here to learn.

That would be one heck of an app...I'd buy it.

Downloaded the app today. I've had some fun playing around with it. I like some of the textures.

I love hipstamatic... 100 cameras? Not so much... I use it, but not as much as Hipstamatic.
