Recently photographed an event where Gene Krantz of Apollo 13 fame was the speaker. Hard to believe that was 41 years ago.
Not everyday you get to talk to one of your heroes. A straight-up true American.

He is a great guy. I got a book signed by him and was nominated for an award the night he got his lifetime recognition award.

Met him and his wife a couple of years ago when I worked at a small print/photo print shop in Webster. They came in for new passport photos. They had been in several times before having photos printed and and such and once, before I started working there, Gene had brought all the employees a signed copy of his autobiography!
I even got an autograph of one of the female Astronauts when she came in to have some of her personal photos from her shuttle mission to the Space station printed.
