Great shots..But here is my question. He says he is using 1/8000 second shutter. I see a flash catch light in the birds eyes..How doses he get past 1/250 flash sinc.

This is his quote near the end of the article: "And hidden from the winged creatures in the back garden of his log cabin in British Columbia, Canada, he polishes the process by firing five flashes simultaneously at an even more impressive 20,000th of a second."

I'd like to know what kind of lens he's using. It looks massive!

1/20,000 is his flash duration.

He's not an amateur. Tabloids like to grab people's attention with catchy title.
