How about the parade grounds at Lackland, AFB and the WWII forward aircraft displayed. I understand there are other static display aircraft scattered about the base also. I believe it is an open base.

Kinda depends on whether you're looking for an outdoor in the country trip, or a city street trip.
If I were to be in the mood for the country, I'd go to Westcave Preserve. After you get done touring there, you could go across the Pedernales river to Hamilton Pool, or next door to Reimer's Ranch Park. They are all right in a row, and you've got a very scenic river crossing in between.
For city stuff I'd go down to San Antonio, and either walk the Riverwalk, go up into La Villita, and then go over to the Mercado (5 or so blocks west of downtown), or I'd visit the missions. Or the McNay museum and grounds are great too.

I've looked at Austin Day Tripper and my trip to Lockhart was due to that show. I watched a couple of episodes and none of them made me want to visit that town (esp the one to Beaumont, cause that place really bites :P).

I was looking for country or city trip. But since I'm not feeling too good today, I might just stay in.

Though, today looks really nice that I might just head downtown. I'm sure I'll feel better after a burger from Casino el Camino.
