i was there. i was also at #43 in Tampa. this one was a joke. the RIDICULOUS line to get in was the stupidest thing i have ever seen. the hand pat down and then the metal detector. you could not bring in a camera case or bonicular case. people had to throw them away. what BS. what unsafe things are in my camera case that they cannot detect? do i have a bomb in it? i did not bring my DSLR because of all the talk of "short lenses only" only in cowboy stadium. none of my lenses are under 3". of course then i see all kinds of people with tele-zoom lenses and full size DSLR's. nothing like a 70-200 F2.8, but long enough that a cropped shot from a 5D MKII would have been beautiful. i was then SUPER pissed that i did not bring my camera. i could have gotten all kinds of shots at the ESPN party and VIP deal for NFL alumni. then they made us all exit through the same single file line at security instead of opening it up wide open for everyone to leave quickly. HOW STUPID. then you had to walk in the freezing cold drizzle all the way to 6 flags to get your shuttle. they did not have the whole NFL experience like in tampa. this whole BS of having super bowls in cities with crappy weather is just stupid. i WILL NEVER go to cowboy stadium again. i don't care about the flubs at halftime. everything bad was jerry jones' and the NFL's fault. only good thing was jennifer anniston was three suites down from me.

So far, just hearing the "buzz" on radio and such, the biggest story has been the national anthem...

A public relations nightmare for DFW, the NFL and Jerry Jones. I don't think we will see another Super Bowl in the next 15 years in North Texas.

$600 for parking at some of the close lots - greed has no boundaries.

Yeah, it does seem that Jerry World wasn't quite ready and I don't think the weather can be blamed for that (even if it did hinder preparations the big stuff should have been done further ahead). Hopefully it does come back though and Arlington is better equipped to handle it.

Ice and greed.
Dallas -------- Arlington -------- Fort Worth.
If you plow nothing else, at least clear I-30.
Should be against the law to sell a ticket to a seat that does not yet exist. Until those seats are OK'd by code inspectors they do not exist.

Quite honestly.... I don't think it'll be remembered much at all....other than the fact that it was snowed in....in Dallas of all freaking places. That was the oddest part....

The music was blah....but seriously...there've been blah performances before. Some WAY worse.

The football game was pretty good....but nothing stupendous....most people I heard were saying "Whose playing today?"...

The commercials were pretty lackluster....the darth vader one was the funniest....some of the stuff was just juvenile.

Fox 4 in Dallas had an interview with the guys (company owner) who installed the 13,000 + seats (all expect the last 1,200 or so) and he said that Jerry had the installation started later than it should (should have started the day after the last home game) and with the Ice on the roof coming off he couldn't even get his crew into the building for part of one day (don't know why they couldn't go in the one truck entrance that was open) and he actually called the Arlington Fire Dept to let them know that they didn't get the exit areas properly secured. It really wasn't the seats themselves that were in any dangerous positions it was the entry ramps/steps to them that were not properly finished with rails and whatever. So they were able to add 90% of the seats projected and at $600 or more a pop for some rather crappy seats Jerry/NFL made some nice $$$ [$7.2 mil+].

What I don't understand is that they had a large tent that they showed some pre-game music performances in but then didn't use it for the "standing outside the venue at $200+ a pop fans"? THat just doesn't make sense since that tent had screens in it!

So it was Jerry "screwing up" then the NFL "screwing up" then the weather that just basically killed Dallas holding another Super Bowl unless the NFL likes all the $$$$$ that they made with the additional seating that this venue can offer.

BTW the seating guy talked as if most venues ADD seats for the Super Bowls when they host them. Heck why not hold one at Lambau? I guess not enough seats-$$$$?

Jerry Jones - although I'm not a fan of his either - doesn't get the extra seating revenue. The NFL gets the stadium rent free for the Super Bowl and the seat/concessions revenue is shared by all 32 NFL teams.

But, as this article linked below from USA Today mentions, there's plenty of mistakes made whose blame should be shared by Jerry Jones, the NFL and the host city.

I think it's funny how many people blame Jerry Jones, when it's all completely handled by the NFL.

Even if it was partially Dallas Cowboys, you really think Jerry is calling up contractors, and setting install date schedules, etc...? /sheesh....
