I guess you're gonna be disappointed. I've come to terms with Apple not supporting flash. There are some fixes for that issue.

I tend to focus on all the things I like that the iPad does well instead of the negatives.

I'm a big fan of the current iPad - but I feel that if they put an SD card slot in the new version (as has been rumored), that will be a really strong reason to buy.

I would love to see that option, but I dont think it will happen, would kill sales of higher storage ipad models no reason to buy a 32gig or 64gig when I can just slide in a SD card. If they did expandable storage I am sure it will be proprietary and you will have to go through apple.

Read yesterday that the Xoom ad for Best Buy was found. As I recall it was for 02-24 and the price was to start at $800. Certainly that isn't a press release, but...

So if you want some of the extras, you may have to pay for it.

Yeah, the retail price point of the Xoom is going to run it out of the market.

I concur - at that price point it will be dead on arrival. If they can't match Apple's iPad pricing, then any manufacturer is going to have dismal sales.

I would think iPad 2 is already DOA because of Honeycomb.... Android 3.0 -- built from the ground-up for android Tablets is far beyond the soon-to-release iOS in so many levels.

Xoom is just the cracking point; soon, there will be more affordable honeycomb tablets against one iPad.

While it may be the case that Honeycomb is feature rich and perhaps 'better', you need look no further than VHS v BetaMax to recognize that the better technology isn't always the winner in the marketplace. The fact remains that with the head start and marketing machine Apple has, iPad 2 could easily overshadow the emerging Android 3.0 capabilities...

Of course YMMV. I'm buying an iPad 2. And maybe even a new MacBook Pro. Just cause that's the way I am

I hope so. Competition is great for the market. It pushes manufacture to give the consumer more for their money.

The price point of the xoom at 800 is on par with the 32gb ipad 3g+wifi, which the xoom will have a cellular chip and of course wifi at 32gb.

I currently have iPad 32gb wifi+3g but am waiting on the Xoom to do a comparison and decide which will be either returned or sold. The xoom could be an excellent device, and I'm use to the widget'd interface from Android which makes information readily available. If the new OS from apple for their laptops/desktops utilizing widgets move towards their mobile device, I would stick with the iPad and reconsider a Verizon iPhone.

Only time will tell.

They could add a SD slot and still not have expandable storage. They sell the SD adapter right now for the iPad, so having it built into the iPad2 wouldn't be far fetched.
