I need a photog- Fort Worth - 02-13-2011, 12:23 PM

I am currently in the military and in the Middle East. However, I will be home, Fort Worth, for some R&R in early April. I am looking for some professional photos of my family, which includes myself, my wife, my 3 year old son, and my daughter who presently is just under a month old. I am thinking of something in a studio but am not opposed to location photography. I just want some good family photos to take back with me. Anybody interested and what kind of prices am I looking at?

Thanks in advance,
Ryan

Brad, if you need a free assistant, to help in any way, let me know. I'd love to be able to help out with such a worthy cause.
I've helped numerous photogs from this forum, so I know my way around lights/reflectors/strobes, etc.
Just let me know!
Thanks,
TomD

PS - I met you a few times at a couple D/FW strobist meetups!

Thanks, guys.. I don't blast it out there that I do this, but its one of the more rewarding things I do.

Tom - I'll keep it in mind if we set something up.

The short version is that an OpLove session is free for a deploying or returning soldier - or for a family of a deployed soldier. A small 4x6 album is sent to the soldier at their duty station - again at no charge. The idea is for the soldier to have something to help improve morale while deployed. The families are welcome to purchase additional images (at a discount), but since I absolutely hate the hard sell, I rarely do more than mention that during the session... I never push them on it.

For anyone who is interested in doing this, check out OpLove .. but even if you don't do this, I strongly encourage all photographers to get involved with a charitable cause... whether that's OpLove, Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, Operation Smile.. any of them.. doing some charity work will improve your mood.

Brad

Thanks for the information. I checked out the sight and think its awesome. I actually shared the website with all my soldiers so they can get some pics done when they are on R&R. My wife or I should be emailing you in the next few days to get some more info.

Linda- I hope I don't have to give my life... But I know what you mean. I do it because I enjoy it, as do most of my soldiers. I am proud to be a Soldier and part of a brotherhood that less than 1/2 of 1% of Americans are ever a part of. Thnak you son for what he does and tell him to keep his head down.

Ryan
