Good to know! My daughter is the primary Netflix user now. Handy to be able to stream shows for a 2 year old and not have to buy them.

HD antenna to my TiVo and Netflix for us. I'll watch Hulu when I'm working from my computer.
No cable or dish here. BTW, most all the bowl games this year were on cable/dish/pay TV.

yeah, I'm not a huge sports fan, But when we have had similar talks with our "sports nut" friends they always say they could make the switch if it wasn't for the games they "have to see"

I like the idea of getting out and meeting friends, one of the biggest reason for us to cut the cable was to get the kids outside and playing like we used as kids. My mom hard a hard time getting us IN the house, now days many parents don't make their kids get OUT of the house.......

Yup, we just switched to the 1 DVD/BR at a time because of price hikes, so far we are doing okay with that..... we tried to use redbox, but it's the same as blockbuster for us, we never return on time so it ends up costing to much :-)

I'm pretty much a sports nut, but it helps that I shoot college football on Sats, pro on Sundays and NBA and MLB the rest of the year. I'm kinda sick of sports.

Why is the selection on Netflix streaming so weak? I love the concept but am disappointed in the selection.

It has been improving quickly.

I've only been onboard for 30 days. So last year must have been really weak concerning selection.

Let's hope for continued improvement.

Somebody please correct me, Netflix movies do not have closed captioning unless I just can't work the remote right.

Check http://www.antennaweb.com to see what channels you will get in your area. Will also show signal strengths and direction.

I have not cut the cable as of yet, but I am in the process. Discovery, SyFi and a few others will be missed. I can find for the most part the shows I like either on Hulu or Netflix or via alternative means.

For sports folks I read some where (will search for link) that you can get packages for the sports, like season passes, via things like Amazon video on demand or other similar places. Believe it or not in many cases the shows you may want to watch are right on the stations website.

Also make sure you are checking online with your computer whether they are available for streaming or not. My father-in-law only thought what was shown on the TV menu was all that was available and was ready to cancel his subscription. Showed him that you have to check online to see if they were available and then add them to your que.

the wife and I got rid of cable and now just have the little box you can get from netflix. we've been doing that for about a year now.

I have no complaints other than netflix AI not really knowing me at all... they suggest some of the dumbest things I'd never watch, but whatever.

We also have Apple TV and Netflix and also have kept our U*Verse. I can't get live auto racing over the Internet, as far as I know, and that's a deal breaker for me. I need my F1... I need my American Le Mans...
