OK, I am using Windows Live Mail and one of my accounts has stopped working. Do we have any email experts that can help me??? I keep getting an error message, "The server has rejected your login. Please verify that your user name and password are correct." My login and password haven't changed in the last 2 days since this started. My email was working fine Monday night, but I woke up Tuesday and it wasn't working, and it hasn't worked since. Please help....
a few more details. I am using it to consolidate my 3 email accounts. My 2 work accounts and my yahoo account. Now 2 out of the 3 accounts are working fine. It's my primary business email that is failing...

Check with your host of the problem email address. I have seen emails get locked because of too many simultaneous logins.

Your using Windows live mail client? I use this at home as well. I would just go through the account settings and just re-input your account settings. Sometimes things just bug out. I am an IT operations manager and that is my expert advice. :)

I've even tried deleting the email account from Windows live and setting it up again and I get the same freakin error message. I have been working with my host provider tech support and all they have said so far is: the password is case sensitive I KNOW THAT!!!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!! | | | |

You have to do a process of elimination and find out if it is your device, Windows Live Mail, your login, your password or your host.
1. Turn off all devices that access this email account.
2. Reboot the 1 device only that you will problem solve from.
3. Try to login the old fashioned way (Outlook, Webmail etc.)
4. Have your email host try to login from their end using your same username and password.
5. If all that fails have them reset your password and then have them try to login on their end.

To add to Lonnie
1: Make sure there all devices that connect to that mail is off (cell phones too) if they are loging in you will get that message
2: check ports too, verizon changed to 587 on outgoing
3: check outgoing settings
4: do you have a email locked up in the outgoing mail that is the log jam?
I personally would look at what is hitting the same email account.
Also, to issolate live, load the same account onto Outlook or another email client to verify it. | | | |

Lonnie, I tried rebooting my computer and opened only my email client, same results. I rebooted again, downloaded Thunderbird, set up my 2 business email accounts. Primary didn't work but my secondary account worked.
My tech support says:
I just logged into your dan account with the following :
user : XXXXXX
pass : XXXXXX
and I haven't heard from tech support at all today..... FRICK!!! | | | |

triple and quadruple checked the ports...
checked outgoing settings.....
not that I know of... my email was working fine on Valentines Day, checked it yesterday morning and it wasn't working and it hasn't been working since. | | | |

Tell them if they cant help you or get you to someone who can your going to leave and go to another provider. Thats what I do.

Can you try a different PC and use outlook instead of Windows Live? Do you have webmail? Webmail allows you to login through a web browser instead of a program.

ok, I was finally able to log in thru the web, but the weird thing is, the first log in attempt was rejected, so I retyped it in and then it worked fine.... I think it is a gmail issue.... still very frustrating. | | | |
