Does anyone on here have connections at a Ford dealer that could help me get one?!? My local dealer wants $5K over MSRP.

It's beautiful. I'm a huge mustang fan. There's a guy that lives in my apartment complex w/ an 03-04 SVT cobra. I touched it and felt incredibly special.

When I worked for Apple we got employing pricing from Ford. I don't know if that still goes on though

for most vehicles like this (if you are talking about the 302R race spec one), you have to show your racing credentials to get it. SCCA logbook or equivalent. as i recall, you have to also show that you have funds to actually race it. it has been a while since i was involved with the SCCA, but there was a cobra R that i believe fell into that category.

Scott, I wish they had a requirement like that! I'd go get my license. Instead they are mostly being claimed by collectors who will hardly drive them.

My dad had an SCCA license.
As much as I like the 1969 Mach I or Boss 302, there is no comparison in performance. One day a 1969 Mach I will hopefully be mine though. Plus, have you seen the prices on ones in good shape?!? They are WAY more money for the Boss models. The 429 prices are well over $100K.

i thought the 429 ones were closer to $250K. we can dream.
the new one can surely outperform the old boss 302, but i'd still rather be driving the old boss 302 with a hurst 4 speed and a 9" rear. one day, one day.........

It only sees the sun on the weekends generally, since i daily drive the GT! Gah I love that cobra. i didn't think I'd ever have one. When the truck is paid off at the end of the year, an s197 is definitely going to be in the works tho!
