I say hold off on the ipad 3 this summer as the ipad 4 will probably be here in 2012 and is sure to be better than the 3. Better yet, wait 10 years for the ipad 13. I bet it will blow the 4 away! Just Kidding, don't get offended. I'm really knocking the way electronics are released. You could wait forever to get the newer, faster, cheaper product. But at some point you will just need something now and have to bite the bullet.

I'm facing this now. I just bought a D300s. I would love to wait for the replacement which will likely be here in August or September, but I need the camera now.

I would love one! When I travel I like to skype home to the kids and if the iPad had that I could leave the laptop at home. As of now, I'm taking the laptop because of the webcam.
Of coures, that's me. You probaly don't need a camera. But for apple not to have one put's them behind everyone else.

But we are getting the iPad 2 either way, have to replace the stolen one. No waiting for the iPad 3 for us.

And in the meantime, I still have my iPad and completely satisfied. I am not going to rush right out and buy the iPad 2 just cuz it exists... I stopped playing that game years ago. I will upgrade when I need to upgrade and not a moment sooner no matter what gets released.

easy now...

i love my ipad and it actually replaced my macbook. i usually only used my macbook to browse the interenet wirelessly at home and to watch movies and such on travel trips..

since getting the ipad when they first came out i havent used my macbook at all... it just sits there.

id buy and ipad2 if it has the same display technology as the iphone4. thats my number one selling point...

The current rumor mill thinking is that the technology is not quite there yet at the price point Apple needs to sell the product for. Having said that, Apple has pulled many a rabbit out of the hat before, so we'll just have to see next week. My buy decision will be made most likely on that issue. If there is a 50% bump in resolution to 1536x1152, I would almost certainly buy one. If they pull out the full 2048x1536, it's a no-brainer. Staying at 1024x768 will be a wait for me only because I just bought a new MBP.
