I decided to give her this present early so she will know how to use it by the time we go to backwoods Louisiana where she will have some very dark skies. I forced her to read the directions though.

@ 12:54AM, the Wife saw her first nebula with her telescope. Which one? The Orion Nebula. I have to admit, I was pretty astonished at what I saw.

Sadly, the Wife didn't bring the stock 1.25" eye piece and the Celestron 17mm eye piece is using for DSO viewing doesn't accept the T-mount to F-mount adapter.

NIce scope. You will be happy that you got this one. Thing is though that you really don't need jet black skies to see things. There are plenty of objects that can be seen even close to the cities. You just don't get the full glory until you get into really dark skies.
