Iphone Data Plan : ATT Reverses 'unlimited' data plan execution (quietly of course!) - 02-28-2011, 08:47 AM

Brad sent me a text msg this morning saying that they'd quietly begun allowing customers to get the unlimited data plan... he told me to do a search for loophole & att data plans....

so I responded saying: I already HAVE unlimted....

His response: Yeah...but maybe some of your TPF friends don't...

Glad he knows his priorities.. ;-)

It was a dumb move on their part. Glad AT&T is 'letting' their customers switch back. This is very beneficial because the new iSO 4.3 will allow tethering.

I am an iPhone user and I got my phone 2 months after the plan change, my wife has unlimited data on her iPhone and we have been long time customers (years), I have written them for months every time I start to run put of data and all they say is " sorry we no longer offer that plan and research shows that 98% if customers only use 2gb a month and unlimited data plan is not in there system" that's what they say every time I write. I think I would be just best to switch when contract is up.

Thanks for letting us know! I just texted my mom about it, I'm still on my parents plan. We all have iPhones. I'm mainly at home or at school and use those wireless networks free, and almost never use AT&T's data, but I think my dad is a little data happy. My mom might want to upgrade for his sake.

Umm.. AT&T has been offering tethering for a while (granted, within the 4gig "unlimited" they had)... but 4.3 will allow for mobile hotspot type tethering...
