I wasn't impressed by the cinematography choices in the video. I've enjoyed some of Knight's still work and feel that this was a poor execution of his high lighting ratio style.

If I strip the special effects away, the cinematography comes across haphazard. The special effects were added to cover up lighting mistakes.

This concept misses the mark for me, especially when following up more notable concept executions like Poker Face. The cinematography in Poker Face was tight and additive.

But when you're pushing the limits, you're bound to have misses. I'm looking forward to seeing what they learn from this one and how they leverage it into a more powerful end product in the next.

ummmm, what Tyler said. I'm not nearly as eloquent, but I thought it was rather sloppily done.

I think some of the best cinematogrphy and lighting came from Madonna's "Like a Prayer" album..... and that was over 20 years ago. I know Herb Ritts was involved in several of the videos. And there were many others that followed.....

Like A Prayer
Express Yourself
Cherish
Oh Father

just a few others.....
