I haven't been to the library in a long time for the purpose of the microfiche machines, but they used to have readers that had printers built in.

Where is this question coming from -- do you have the microfiche and looking to convert them to digital, or are you wanting to get a digital copy of microfiche that is at the library?

Nevermind -- I'll take care of it myself!

Brian, I work for a company that does micrographics & document imaging. As a technical service rep, I install & maintain film scanners for our customers. We also have capture centers that can provide the conversion for you.

The image quality exceeds that of analog prints, and sometimes that of the original film. You can get just straight images, or you can opt for indexing service with retrieval software.

PM me if you'd like more details. I can put you in touch with our Houston office.

What do you want to know, been in the industry for 9 years. I can tell you that Fiche images are small and usually 67dpi. They aren't the greatest blown up.

Get Imaging Document Conversion, Document Management & Imaging Solutions has the best conversion rates if you want to convert mass images.

We are finally phasing out the last of our microfiche readers. We've narrowed it down to 8 fiche of 60 images each they would like to keep.
They were created in '87 - originals are long gone.
The originals were various x-ray, clinical and histological images that our students used.
The objective is to scan at the highest possible resolution. Most of the scanning services I've seen are geared toward documents and not images.
