Best wishes and Prayers for all those folks in Japan affected by the quake. Sendai is where the Nikon plant is located and Sendai city looks hammered.

I just read about it. An 8.9 earth quake with 6.1 after shocks...unbelievable.

My prayers are with the people affected.

Japan was the first stamp in my passport, ironically during an earthquake (I moved to Malaysia during the Northridge quack in '94). I never spent much time there, and as a result it's always been the place to which I most wanted to return.

My thoughts are with the entire ring of fire - nothing happens as an isolated case out there, and there have been several not-quite-insignificant quakes under other parts of the Pacific in the hours since the 8.9 hit off the coast of Japan.

Oh wow, how horrible! This is the first I heard of it. I've been working so much, haven't watched the news in a long time. Glad your brother is safe, Abel.

Anthony, where in Malaysia did you live? I used to live in KL, and my mom also lived in Penang for awhile.

Also lived in KL. Jan '94 to Dec '96. 11 Lorong Ampang Ulu Tiga was our address. Not sure why I remember that.

I have a few friends there. Most of them are ok. Haven't got word from the others.
