OK, contract was finally up, time to upgrade the cell phone and move into the smart phone era. I look online and find the phone I want, even has a $50 instant rebate if I order online and free next day air shipping. I should have just clicked "order now" and been done with it, but NOOOO....

So I drive to the nearest verizon store, not too far away. I head in and get accosted like I was on a used car lot, UGH. I look at the smart phones, make sure the one I saw online is the one that I want. I pick it up and the store alarm goes off.... the rep resets the alarm. I pick the phone up again, and yeah, the alarm goes off again... I haven't even been able to turn the damn thing on to see how the touch screen operates yet.... Alarm is reset, I pick the phone up again, and yup... ARGH!!!!! turn the fu#%@ng alarm off!!!! OK, finally I just tune it out and keep playing with the phone. I can work it, my fingers aren't too fat, I can press the buttons and use the touch screen with out too much trouble. I head up to the counter to make the purchase..... deep breath.... I get the up-sell, you need this, and you need this, and you have to have one of these. NO!!! I just want my phone!!! I don't need more minutes, I know I need to add a data plan though. OK, get that figured out.... Well, the phone I want is not in stock at the store. They say they can order it, I get a $50 mail in rebate and I will get the phone in a few days.... ugh.... So he types away, doing this and that, disappears for 5 minutes at a time, several times... A total of 60 minutes in the store and then, this is the kicker, he asks me to step behind the counter, where I go online and order the phone just like I could have done if I would have stayed home!!!!!

There is a part of you saying, "I told you so!". I don't like visiting stores like that for this reason. That's why I hate Cons. They hassle me EVERYTIME! which phone was it, btw?

Gotta love Verizon.

My wife ordered a new phone online and it was free, because we had the old one since year 1. After it came, we realized it had no charger for AC.. no problem we go to the mall and ask the clerk. While she is getting it from behind the counter, the price was $30, I notice another style that has bigger buttons, and is only $49 with the charger, with a one year service., which we needed anyway.

So I said I might just want to get that one instead. I figured the one we got for free could just be put in a drawer.. it was FREE.

Ok, says the clerk, The charge will be $49 for the phone, and $29 for a restocking fee for this charger. What? She was still holding it in her hand??

Yep, gotta love them phone companies.
