through unfortunate circumstances I aquired a brownie six 20 target camera. It works and has a take up reel. Cant get the 620 film anymore but the guys at HCE told me 120 would work. So I bought a roll and I am gonna give it a try. Looks like there are two shutter speeds. automatic and manual. LOL

Should be interesting to see how this all works out.

I also aquired a "Crystar 35mm" camera. Its a VF camera totally manual. Cant seem to find a operators manual fro it on the web.

I would like to add a little more info for anyone interested. I was told at HCE that A.) You have to special order 620 film if you want it cause its not made anymore. and B.) that if I lost the spool that was in the camera i would have to spend 100-150 bucks to get a new one.

Wrong and wrong. B and H sells the 620 film. It isnt cheap, 11-12 bucks a roll and hello it comes on a spool... Also you can buy the spools on ebay all day long fro about 20 bucks for three....

Not trying to dog out HCE but always find more than one source for info. The person I spoke to, who I have never seen in there before, obviously didnt know what he was talking about.

You can respool 120 onto 620 reels and use that too. Seems silly if you arent going to be shooting 100's of shots.

Hmm, my wife's great aunt had a few 620 cameras. One is the girl scout edition with box and flash!

Those Brownies are great fun. There are several ways to get the 120 film to work. Google 120 to 620 film. Respooling is just one option. Not sure why you can't see the frame numbers......

No frame numbers = film loaded backwards. Maybe.

no, I ended up wasting the film to figure it out. It was fuji film, no numbers on it at all. I guess it is used in cameras that advance the proper amount and have a built in counter.
