Indeed. They all fall short in some respect.

I find it kind of disturbing. They would have all the GSM bandwidth in the US.

Verizon is moving away from CDMA over time (LTE is basically the next iteration GSM).

Really depends on where in the US you are... some are better than others... ATT... try Chicago... you will hate it. NY you will love it.

If ATT uses TMobile customer support I will be very happy but that is not likely to happen....

We've been with T-Mobile since they were voicestream, great prices and great customer service. we're going to renew all of our contracts here soon so that we can at least get our rates locked in for the next 2 years

I read the news with some feelings of despair. I'm an AT&T user and my contract expires in August. I was looking forward to at least having the option of considering T-Mobile once my contract lapsed.

Really I find it kind of ironic -- T-Mobile's been beating AT&T up so bad with its commercials with the cute girl in her party dresses, so what's AT&T's response?

Well, if you can't beat 'em, eat 'em!

Not to change this discussion too much, but AT&T is unionized with payroll deductions. T-Mobil is not. Texas is a right to work state.
Can the union require membership or deduct dues from Texas employees if the deal is approved? Not to get political. This is a straight question.

This is not a done deal by any means. They still have to get FTC and Justice Department approval. Best I can tell, the chance of that is under 50%.
