We honeymooned on Anguilla 20 years ago next month, but we've been back several times since then. It was a wonderful, laid back place for a honeymoon. The people are warm and friendly, the beaches are some of, if not the most beautiful in the Carribbean, the water is amazing and the restaurant scene is a step up from most islands as well. The island itself is a bit scrubby, but the beaches, the food and the people make up for that. Just one example of the laid backness of the island was the guy we rented a car from last trip (Spring '10). He is an independent, small rental agency. Made the arrangements online. He left the car, with keys, at the ferry. No paperwork, just go hop in the car and fill in the temporary drivers license. On day 5, he finally called us, we met at the Post Office, where he finally got our credit card info, and that was it. We left the car at the ferry when we left. I could cite many more examples.
There is one golf course and not a lot of nightlife, but you are only 6 miles from St. Martin, so it's easy to hop over for a day and shop, golf, gamble or disco. There is some diving on Anguilla, but I also went over to St. Martin for a day of diving.
If you are interested, I can send you some links to hotels, villas, restaurants, bars, rent car, etc. We honeymooned at Cap Juluca and it was (and remains) fabulous and uber luxurious, but we've also stayed in a private villa and a much more low key (i.e., way cheaper) resort last year. But, this was our view every morning. Pretty sweet.
Another two really great honeymoon place (and it is all-inclusive as it is only about 12 villas) is Palm Island in the Grenadines. They've totally redone it and upscaled it since we were there and we've definitely thought about going back. My husband noticed they were having some deals just last week. It's a bit tougher to get to - we flew to Barbados, spent the night and then flew on, but you could also get there from Grenada. Very laid back and low key. There is diving, but no golf. Just relaxing on the beach or in your villa. Another perfect honeymoon spot. Don't have any Palm Island pictures with me, though.
Petit St. Vincent (also in the Grenadines) is another similar luxury spot. We haven't been, but have looked at it seriously. It's a bit pricier, though.
