SUMMARY
The Systems Engineer will be responsible for installation, configuration and support of GameStop server systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* The candidate chosen for this position will perform the following functions
* Implement new systems to support core business applications by obtaining requirements and translating to detailed infrastructure designs.
* Work with Storage engineers and Database administrators to design and maintain proper storage configurations for systems and applications.
* Work with Network engineers to design and maintain proper network configurations for systems and applications.
* Partner with software architecture organization to evaluate and deploy technologies that best meet the needs of the business
* Thoroughly document new system deployments and changes to existing systems.
* Perform daily management and administration of Windows Servers.
* Perform capacity planning and performance testing/tuning
* Perform daily management and administration of VMware host and guest
* Must be available for occasional after hours and weekend work.
* Must be available for on-call rotation with the ability to respond to the needs of a 24x7 environment.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related field or equivalent year-for-year related work experience required
* At least 4 years of server infrastructure experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES
* Hands-on experience installing, tuning and troubleshooting Windows Server 2003 and 2008 systems in a high volume enterprise environment.
* Knowledge and ability to work with Windows Server technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy Management, DFS, TCP/IP, Clustering, PKI)
* Knowledge and ability to install, configure, tune and troubleshoot IIS version 6 through 7.5
* Knowledge and ability to work with third party web server management tools (ex. content replication tools, performance testing and analysis)
* Knowledge of Virtualization technologies VMware and Hyper-V
* Knowledge and ability to use scripting technologies (Powershell,
VB, WMI, etc)
* Basic knowledge of SOA and web services technologies
* Basic knowledge of Windows SQL technologies
* Demonstrated ability with handling complex and demanding situations
* Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
* Working ability to remain effective under stress, and respond to pressure in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
