Had some fun yesterday - 03-23-2011, 01:57 PM

I was at The Woodlands Christian Academy shooting a softball game. I had a remote camera mounted on a tripod next to the first base dugout. It was aimed through the green backstop netting at home plate in hopes of catching some action around the plate. I was positioned down past third base with the big lens.

The boys baseball team was scheduled to play next on the adjacent field and most of them were watching the girls finish their game. One young man heard the camera fire a burst and walked over to look at it. He tried to see the image on the back LCD. There is none because I have that feature turned off on that camera. He kept watching it. I fired it again with my remote switch. This time he looked at it closer and then passed his hand in front of the lens. I fired it again, a burst of 3-4 shots. He looked at it and passed his hand in front of it again. I fired it again. He looked around for a bit, then finally walked off with the others as they headed over to their field. I wish I could have read his mind! :-)

Ha! Very funny Mike! I assume you didn't have DSLR with video capabilities with you at the time. It would have been amusing to watch.

Nope. The mark III doesn't. The 7D has it but that was the camera involved in the curiosity.

And I don't know why I didn't just take a shot with the main camera. Too busy messin with the young man, I guess.
