What's a D-Max movie theater? - 03-25-2011, 01:03 PM

I noticed on my way home from Dallas yesterday that they're building what the sign says is a D-Max Cinema in Gainesville just south of the outlet mall. Is it just another name for 3-D Imax? It seems like a strange place to build one.

The D Max theater in Gainesville is just the name the independent/local builders selected for it. It is just a regular theater with a couple of 3D screens and not affiliated with any other chain or franchise.

Marketing. Reminds me of the HD vision sunglasses you see advertised on TV at night. It always makes me wonder how one pair of sunglasses can have more lines of resolution??

I used to love those adds. Soooo, somehow the glasses reduce your vision to 1080?
