Synching Bookmarks - 03-26-2011, 09:41 AM

Is anyone here using Xmarks? I have a couple of different PC's and Macs and it seems to do a good job of synching my bookmarks on various browsers.

I've been using it for years, started out with FoxMarks. I'm apparently one of the few who not only pledged to pay an annual fee if they could find a buyer, but followed through with the pledge :-)

Yes. Like Bill I've used them for a while.

They almost closed their doors last year but luckily a company came along and helped them out of trouble. Thank goodness.

Just FYI, FireFox 4 now has it's own sync software too.

Really? Will it synch with Safari or just FF?

Just Firefox, as far as I know. And Chrome has its own, and Safari synchs through mobileme. That's why I like XMarks :-)

I just installed XMarks. I noticed it removed all of my Favicons. I'm not diggin' it so far. It also seems to have overwritten my Firefox bookmarks (the one I mainly use) with my Safari Bookmarks (rarely used). :/

I use google bookmarks. keeps all my bookmarks on google, so I have the option to just go to my google page to find them, if I don't have the toolbar widget installed.

There's a check box (or check boxes) that determine who gets what when you synch. It might be a first time thing. I don't remember. I wanted the bookmarks on one machine to go everywhere so for me it was easy- install it on the PC and synch then install it on everything else and tell those machines to to be over written.
