looks like you may get lucky on weather, albeit chilly :)

Being a work trip are you able to pack a full set of gear and tripod or are you traveling light?

I can't say much about Yosemite, but just got back from Tahoe, via Sacramento and there was some major snow in the higher elevations, so check the weather and road conditions carefully and be prepared for all kinds of weather conditions. Get a 4-wheel drive vehicle if you can. We did; otherwise, we wouldn't have made it back from Tahoe. Some roads around the Tahoe area were closed, that may be true around Yosemite as well.

Take the big Pentax.
Enjoy!

Lisa is right! It's still winter up high.

Paul, I'll be bringing everything.
16mm to 400mm. I don't think I'll need more than one flash so I'll leave the others home.

Yes, I will be packing warm clothing for sure.

I've been to other NPs but never to Yosemite. Just would like to know what to expect and any pointers that I can get will be appreciated.

I would go over to the Large Format Photography Forum and read about travelling to & photographing in Yosemite. It is a favorite among the members there. Lots of good information from folks who live around there.

I didn't see the big Pentax mentioned in your list. Grinning.

Fresh snow and dogwoods make for a great combonation. Stay out of Ansel's tripod marks. Have fun.

I saw this great video about the frazil ice in Yosmite. You should check it out and let us all know what it's really like!

You guys are making it that much more exciting for me.

Beth, I will have a report for you when I get back and thanks for the video.

Ernst, I am not worthy to even be mentioned alongside Ansel Adams. He has been an inspiration to me ever since I took up photography in the mid '50s.

Mike, I will be traveling with 2 other photographers and my wife who is in charge of taking notes and helping change lenses.
Our itinerary is to spend 3 days in Yosemite then work our way back to San Francisco, stopping and photographing everything in-between.

I have been so busy with a charity bike ride but it will be over this Sunday, and then it will hit me, "I'm going to Yosemite"

Wayne, I must be honest with you my good friend:
There's no looking back to film for me. I know, I know! I'll be missing all those wonderful chemical smells in the darkroom!!!!!
Let's do another shoot soon.

i mostly see "big picture" pictures from Yosemite. I'd love to see macros and little vignettes. Not a tip, just stopping by to mention I'm so jealous. I went there when I was 13 with my itty bitty 110 camera.
