The 377 traffic Circle south of Camp Bowie Blvd has bluebonnets. Not heavy but they are there...

Thanks, but I'm thinking more in terms of country landscape. Jeff Kohn's work of seasons past makes me want to get out and actually do some myself this year.

John, this is not going to be anything close to the banner year of 2010. The Hill Country is actually dryer than North Texas. WildflowerHaven Community

Sugar Ridge Road near Bristol - about an hour's drive south of the Metroplex. A couple of rolling hills covered with bluebonnets at their peak this week.

This was taken there yesterday.

I was coming back from a trip to Brazos Bend today and thought I'd explore around Brenham/Independence/Old Baylor. Very few fields and what few there were were scraggly and past prime. The area around Old Baylor was almost barren of flowers of any kind. It wasn't a good year at all.

Looks like Jeff found the best ones.

I have been taking the road from Austin to College Station almost weekly and the wildflowers did not look like much at all. Went to Burnett last week and nothing to see there either. Traveled the back road from Austin to San Antonio (281) and not much along that way either. Does not look to promising for Central Texas unless they are hiding.

Would really like to find a nice spot like yours, Jeff.

There are 2 spots out at DFW airport, South entrance exite at the rental return, theres one on the shoulder there. Continue on N on service road, cross over on airfield drive, adn head back to the south exit. There is another good size patch on the service rd there.
