Man that was easier!
I've only been messing with photography during the digital age, but being a graphic designer and artist for much longer its the same thing.
Used to be you had a portfolio which was a book with your work printed and placed inside. A prospective employer or client held it in their hands and flipped through it.

Now there is so much to keep track of besides that! Your main website, your blog, your facebook, your photoshelter/smugmug/zenfolio/etc, your ipad/iphone... its getting insane.

Sure, all this digital stuff is an easier, quicker and much more effective way to get people to see your work which is fantastic, but man, you could employ somebody just to handle all these updates!

Ahhhh... the good ole days.

I think it's important to have a printed book, as seeing images printed and tangible has a much greater impact.
