Screen resolution, or, I hate computers - 04-13-2011, 08:03 PM

Ok, upgraded my Sony laptop from Vista to WIN 7. I have two options in screen resolution, 800x600, or 1024x768. Of course, the 800x600 is way too big, but the 1024x768 doesn't fit, either. It's close, but still stretches the screen just a bit. It only lets me choose those two. Any ideas on getting it right? I am so computer challenged.

What was your resolution before you upgraded?

You might have to find the video card driver for Win 7.

Sonny, I could kiss... Ahem...Sonny, thank you for the advice. It worked. Renae, give Sonny a kiss for me, and a drink for you.

Find the native resolution of the screen and set for that. Some screens really look bad when set outside native resolution.

Go to this site - Sony eSupport - Electronics - and click "Detect My Model". That should load up a site that gives you compatibility info about your specific laptop and Win7 - including drivers info.
