Erich, I've been there several times. Altho it seems dark, it is not the end of the world. Now is the time to start looking, as well as getting prepared by cutting expenses and building the savings.

Best of luck from someone who really understands.

I totally understand being laid off twice in the past. I agree with Ken 100%. Get rid of any unnecessary and start saving every penny possible. At least you have a two month notice.

Best of luck.

Sorry to hear that, Erich. Most of us contractors at JSC have been on the edge since Feb 2010. Rough times these days.

Hell, you can probably retire off that savings!

I have at least one Texas Workforce page that may help too if you want it.

Consider yourself lucky. I only got 3 days' notice of mine last month. Just got my first call for an interview today.

Just remember the old quote.

"When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us."

It may not be of any comfort at the moment but so true. I've been where you were just with zero days notice. Depressed for a little bit but found it to probably be the best thing that has happened to me looking back. Good luck with the hunt.

In 2002, the person on the speaker phone told me that my job was no longer needed... but they'd pay me until the end of the week... it was Wednesday.

When one door closes, usually another one opens. Best of luck, keep your head up. Been there a few times and I understand how you feel.
