My laptop cost less than a comperable HP, Dell or Toshiba and had a much better screen and a blu-ray burner. If you look at the specs they are very competitive.

My receiver is an ES series and is spec'd the same as the Pioneer Elite line but cost me $300 less. My XBR4 TV did cost $100 more than the comperable Samsung, etc, but is still working great with excellent picture quality 6 years later.

Almost forgot my MP3 player that has better sound quality than the iPods (many independant reviews point to this) and came with much nicer headphones for $20 less.

After their deal with taking away PS3 functionality and the dustup with George Hotz recently, I refuse to buy anything from Sony at all... ever.

I was always hesitant with some of their proprietary things (e.g. memory stick), but some things were pretty good (e.g. blue ray players). But now - nope, I'm out. No more Sony for me. Ever.

Because they took out Linux support and didn't want people hacking the PS3? Really? What other OS does XBox support?
