Just so everyone knows, if you pass the WHITE LINE at a red light... you just ran the light... EVEN if you actually stop without going through the intersection. Doesn't matter how far it is to the intersection or the corner, only where the line has been drawn on the pavement & if you stopped pass the line.

Don't ask how I come to know this...

That's right... spoke with my attorney about it and all he asked, "Was there a white stripe? Where did you stop?"

Never pay much attention to those lines before now.

No. It is not a normal "ticket". It is a fine for breaking a city ordinance, IIRC.

That way they hold the owner of the vehicle responsible. They do not care who is driving.

When the line is at a crosswalk, makes sense. When it's a full-size SUV length away fromt he corner of the street? It's ONLY there to generate revenue for the city.

My husband got one of those, i think he watched the video a dozen times to try to find a loophole, doh!

So once you've stopped AT the line, can you then go past the line to turn right?

Yes, my attorney said that's the catch. You must STOP at the line, then move forward past it.

I too went a few years without a front plate on one of my vehicles before learning via an expensive route about the state requirement that both ends must have a plate. Count your blessings and be forewarned.

I got one of those "redlight tickets" back in August. Even though I know for a fact if I were to have stopped fully, I would have been hit by another car, I entered the highway ramp, with no other on-coming cars. $105 later....I hate the cams. Most places let you review the video to dispute....I would dispute any ticket....just my opinion

I have been asked on the Cobra before. No factory mounting position. Same with the V. The officer just suggested I look for an aftermarket one, but was nice about it. I suppose one day I may get one who isn't, but the Cobra is 8 years old and haven't had an issue.
