upgrade your router today - 04-26-2011, 07:32 PM

my netgear 300 started acting up and at first I was pissed. Now I'm glad it did. Just installed netgear n600 ... wow youtube at 1080p ... I couldn't do that before

Out in the sticks I'm limited to broadband and I pay extra for 8 mbps ... now I'm getting what I pay for;

Nice. My sister has an old G router but is paying for Comcast cable internet. It doesn't even have gigabit ports. Such a waste.

Just switched from ATrocious Telecommunications to suddenlink cable, here is mine with a six year old router:

Not bad considering this is probably the worst time of the day to test.

I was told at my slow speeds the router upgrade would not help ... the page loads are at least double if not more ... I always had to watch a youtube video at 360 or less. I just watched one at 1080 and it never stopped, the load was faster then the play ... I'm happy

here is my test video

I need to switch. My upload speeds are capped at 356Kb/s which is AWFUL for uploading photos.

I have no doubt that a cheap and/or malfunctioning router will cause lots of problems, in my case however I doubt very seriously a router upgrade will help. It is great that it helped you out though! Life is nice at high speed, heh.

Test video played great at 1080 on my old router :-)

Allan

PS. I should probably mention that my old router is a DGL-4100, heh.

I recently upgraded mine. Granted it was like 8 years old, but my speed increased significantly. I am actually getting better speeds than what I am actually paying for. I am supposed to get 18mb/s and a download of 2mb/s.

This is mine off of my laptops wifi connection to my router. Could be faster but I'm on U-verse rather than roadrunner which is faster.

Is that hardwired to your router.
I'd test it that way but I don't have any machines actually hardwired to the router. I suppose I could take my laptop downstairs and hook it up but I'm too lazy.
