Explain your screen name - 04-27-2011, 12:22 PM

Some of you have some very creative screen names and some of ours are very generic. Mine is super creative and is my first initial and last name. Also, if your curious about one then ask it here.

Mine started on a fishing web site. Stargazer, a fish and as I work for the Space Program, it just seemed to have a good fit on both accounts.

My husband used to call me Sheribeari when he really wanted something.. when our first grandchild heard it, she stopped calling me Grandma and started calling me Sheribeari. Now it is what everyone calls me :o)

Another really creative one here. Last name and my first initial and my wifes first initial. Just what our email was at the time and still is a variation of.

I love dragons. I also read a lot of science fiction, fantasy, and (at one time) comics. Gleep is a dragon from Robert Asprin's "Myth" series. I often used that as a nickname in my IRC days and it was the first thing that came to mind when registering here.

The drawing of the dragon I use for my avatar is not, however, Gleep. It came from an ancient issue of Dragon Magazine that had been infested with little dragons (drawn by Phil Phoglio). Phoglio also did the comics of the Myth series but I don't have any of his drawings of Gleep in digital format. I guess I need to change that.

Well... First name (nickname - full is Rebecca, but most just call me Becca) and J is the first letter of my maiden name. I go by BDavis516 on everything else now I'm just too lazy to request Abel to change it. lol

i used to scale up all the new R&D grades of Dupont Surlyn (as in golf ball covers) when they wanted to run them full scale in the production unit. so, it is not surly. it is Surlyn. i have long since switched jobs, but always kept the name.

I have worked with computers since the inception of the Commodore Vic 20. And after so many years of Windows toxification and telling so many people to Ctrl Alt Del to kill the task....I chose that for my name.

Hopefully by the end of this year, I will be a Mac convert when the new iMac's get released!

Back in the late 90's, I met up with a couple of internet fishing buddies for a day on the water. After fishing Lake Sabine all day, with not much to show for our efforts, we were recapping the days events when MoJo From Beaumont said Mikey, we need to come with a handle for you. Something besides MikeH. I said, well, my name is MT Henderson, and MoJo in all his splendor shouted out "MT Stringer"!

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!.

Duh

Actually I started using it because way back in my freshman year of college we had two email servers. One was the engineering one which gave is ugly logins that were some weird basis of our name and some number, and one was our "personal" email. I asked one day if it had to be our name or some derivative of it, and they made the mistake of saying it could be anything. I said "groovy" and that became my email. When eBay started up someone beat me to groovy, so I took groovy1 and it morphed into this.
